Saudi Arabia has Decided to End War on Yemen

TMJ News Yemen correspondent confirmed that Saudi Arabia has decided to end the war on Yemen.

Reuters News reported that a Saudi delegation will travel to Sanaa next week to conclude an agreement with Yemen.

The Kingdom seeks to extend the existing truce in Yemen for another year, and a meeting in Riyadh confirmed the news by briefing the president and members of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council on the anniversary of announcing its establishment from Riyadh to inform them about their reconciliation with Sanaa.

According to Al Ahad News the Saudi Defense Minister even brought a solution draft on the table during the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council meeting on Thursday April 6th 2023, and the Saudi ambassador to Yemen further confirmed the details of the Riyadh- Sanaa truce and the results.

The Kingdom is reportedly envisioning a solution that will provide an extension to the current Truce in Yemen for another year which came as a result of their understanding with Sanaa in exchange for handing in the salaries, unifying the currencies and opening the entire Hudaydah’s seaport.

The extension of the truce complete with a new set of conditions will be followed by an official Saudi announcement which will confirm the end of the war and their arguably unjust invasion on Yemen.

Following the announcement of ending the war, UN brokered and Saudi-sponsored Yemeni talks will commence, which will collaborate on a two year transitional period.

Al-Ahad also stated that “the Saudi vision for solution is based on discussing the future of the form of the state and the government in the transitional period, and according to its understandings with Sanaa, is still being discussed although it appears to be almost final.”

The sources then mentioned that Riyadh informed “Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council” about its decision to end the devastating 8 year long war and end the issue once and for all.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia alongside its Arab allies and heavily backed by the US, Israel and other Western States ensued the war on Yemen in March 2015.

Initially they planned on annihilating the Ansarullah, which has been running state affairs in the absence of an efficient government in Yemen and revive the Riyadh-friendly regime of Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.

The Saudi-led coalition failed miserably in achieving its objectives, but the war resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths of Yemenis, rampant starvation due to the blockade, and plunged the impoverished Arab nation into the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
