Putin Warns Western Nations Against Allowing Ukraine to Attack Russia, Says Moscow is Capable to do the Same with Enemies of the West
Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a dire warning, citing that Moscow could supply arms to other countries to attack western targets after the West gave Ukraine the authority to strike inside the Russian Federation.
Putin condemned the decision by the West to permit Ukraine to detonate long-range missiles on targets inside Russia, warning Moscow is capable of arming enemies of the west with similar weapons to act the same way.
“If someone thinks it is possible to supply such weapons to a warzone to attack our territory and create problems for us, why don’t we have the right to supply our weapons,” Putin said at a press conference.
Why would Russia “not have the right to supply our weapons of the same class to those regions of the world where there will be strikes on the sensitive facilities of those countries that are doing this against Russia?” the Russian president asked.
Putin also lambasted the recent permission given by the West to Kiev as a “very serious and dangerous step.”
He emphasized that “supplying weapons to a conflict zone is always a bad thing, especially if this is linked to the fact that those who supply them are not only delivering weapons but managing them.”
Late last month, US President Joe Biden gave Kiev the authority to fire long-range missiles supplied by the Americans to strike targets inside Russia. Germany swiftly fell in line with the US by allowing Kiev to utilize German-supplied long-range missiles against Russian targets, with the UK and France following suit that they were okay with Ukraine striking targets inside Russia.
Russia, on the other hand, has warned several times that a continued supply of Western arms and military equipment for Ukraine “will only prolong the war.”
