Police Offer $22,500 Reward to Find Ohio City Gunman who Killed 1 and Injured 24 in Mass Shooting

The Mayor and police chief of Akron has appealed to witnesses to assist with information regarding a mass shooting in Ohio City that led to the death of one person and wounded 24 others, some critically injured. 

A 27-year-old man was killed with the wounded ranging from 19-43, according to police. 

“This was a tragic incident which impacts our entire community,” Mayor Shammas Malik said. “The sheer number of victims is shocking and disconcerting. I want to be very clear: Anyone who was involved in last night’s shooting will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

No arrests were reported and police have sought help from anyone with information to call detectives. 

The rewards for giving information leading to the arrest of the criminal is $22,500.
