Coronavirus And The Muslim Community

Coronavirus has impacted the world like nothing before, with lockdowns, social isolation, and a halting economy. The Muslim Journalists Fatima Al-Sayed and Zainab Rights speak to experts Dr. Syra Madad and Dr. Arif Dharsee, as well as Iman Khalil-Fariel and her experience with Coronavirus to give you the holistic information about Covid19, vaccines, future projections and how it affects the Muslim community.

Dr. Arif Dharsee, MD is an Infectious Disease Specialist in Bay Shore, NY, and has over thirteen years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine.

Iman Khalil Fariel is a professional fitness coach and entrepreneur based in Florida. She recently experienced COVID19 and faced an adverse reaction, debunking the myth that only those who are older or immunocompromised face greater health issues with COVID19.

Dr. Syra madad is a Pathogen Preparedness Expert and infectious disease epidemiologist. She is the Senior Director of the System-wide Special Pathogens Program at NYC Health + Hospitals where she is part of the executive leadership team which oversees New York City’s response to the Coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic in the city’s 11 public hospitals. She was featured in the Netflix documentary series Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak and a recent one by Discovery+ with Dr. Anthony Fauci and other leading scientists.”
