Hunter Biden Becomes the First Son Of a Sitting President To Be Convicted

US President Joe Biden’s 54 year old wayward son has been convicted of all three felony charges revolving around a purchase of a revolver in 2018 when prosecutors argued that the president’s son lied on a gun-purchase form by claiming that he was not illegally using or addicted to drugs.

President Joe Bident said in a statement shortly after the verdict that he would accept the outcome and “continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal.”

Hunter Biden awaits up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced by US District Judge Maryellen Norekia, but since he is labeled as a “first-time offender,” he might not get anywhere near the maximum jail time and there is no guarantee if he will even go to jail. The judge has not even set a sentencing date.

Defense attorney Abbe Lowell said they would “continue to vigorously pursue all the legal challenges available.”

In a written statement, Hunter Biden expressed that was disappointed by the outcome but “grateful for the support of family and friends.”

Jurors have found Hunter Biden “guilty of lying to a federally licensed gun dealer, making a false claim on the application by saying he was not a drug user and illegally having the gun for 11 days.”

Hunter Biden’s ex-girlfriend had also revealed to a jury that he was abusing crack cocaine “every 20 minutes or so” when they first met.

Zoe Kestan, who met Mr. Biden, 54, during a “private dance” at a “gentleman’s club” in New York, also told the court he was often withdrawing cash for drug deals.

This was the first criminal trial for the son of a sitting US president.
