Doctor’s Last Message in Gaza Hospital White Board “We Did What We Could”

A doctor in Gaza’s Al Awda Hospital wrote a heartfelt message on a white board used for planning surgeries. This highlights the dire situation hospitals are forced to face following the Israeli Regime’s onslaught on Gaza.

“We did what we could. Remember us,” the message read. This was written by Dr. Mahmoud Abu Nujaila on October 20, 2023. He was killed by an Israeli airstrike on November 21, 2023.

The same strike also killed doctors Ahmad Al Sahar and Ziad Al Tatari. Other medical staff were critically injured. Hospitals continue to face severe shortages of life saving medical supplies and anesthesia despite an overflow of patients flooding the hospitals from injuries sustained by the Israeli strikes.
