Dearborn Parents Stand Up to School District Over Explicit Materials in Schools

Dearborn, Michigan parents may be setting a national precedent in their protests against inappropriate sexually explicit content in school libraries. Stephanie Butler, one of the moms leading the fight against the Dearborn Public Schools said sexual grooming and pornography should not be promoted to vulnerable children in the school systems and libraries. Rola Saleh, another mom and a Muslim American, speaks about children learning school subjects without parents having to worry about different ideologies being promoted in the classrooms. Parents are gearing up to attend a city-wide school board meeting on October 10th to protest against the school board’s choices related to explicit content being made available to young children.
