American Protesters Call for Ceasefire in Gaza During an NBA All-Star Weekend Match

Pro-Palestinian protestors called for a ceasefire in Gaza during the NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis on Saturday Feb. 17.

The protestors flocked to Lugar Plaza, adjacent to the heart of downtown Indianapolis, calling for a ceasefire with large signs that read, “Let Gaza Live” and “Ceasefire Now!”

The signs were clearly seen during the 3-point and dunk shot contests.

The protest was a result of combined efforts between more than half a dozen groups, including the popular Palestinian Youth Movement, Jewish Voice for Peace-Indiana, Middle Eastern Student Association and Athletes for Ceasefire.

Pro-Palestine protests have been on the rise in the US since October 7, 2023, with ongoing calls for a ceasefire at various events.
