Yemen Declares War Against Israel

Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has officially declared war against the Israeli regime following the killing of over 8,000 Palestinians by Israel in a span of 25 days.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, made an announcement from Sana’a, the capital city of Yemen, on Tuesday  October 31, 2023, voicing support for the “Palestinian people in the Occupied Territories.”

General Saree further stated that Yemen had launched several ballistic and cruise missiles, alongside numerous drones which targeted various locations in the Palestinian Occupied Territories. He even mentioned that this operation was the third attempt to support “their Palestinian brethren.”

“The position of our Yemeni people towards the cause of Palestine is fixed and principled, and the Palestinian people have the full right to defend themselves and use their full rights,” General Saree declared.

General Saree even condemned Israel’s escalation of violence on Gaza, citing that the Israeli regime is backed with support from the US and other regimes.

General Saree emphasized on Yemen’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, stressing that this ticked the third operation off the box in support of the Palestininans in Gaza in the past three weeks.

He also vowed that Yemen will not back down until Israel stops. He further stated, “We will continue to carry out higher quality attacks using missiles and drones until Israel’s aggression stops.”

Notably, Ansarullah’s political spokesperson also mentioned that “when the war on Gaza began, we contacted Saudi Arabia and the UAE asking for the blockade to be partially lifted and to be able to support our brothers in Palestine, but they refused and coordinated with the US and the Zionists.”

Critics were quick to comment on the silence from the gulf countries saying “Yemen, brutalized by 10 years by the evil monarchy of Saudi Arabia and the UAE has done more in one week than most Arab governments have done in 40 years. May all Arab leaders hang their heads in shame”.

While the poorest country in the Middle East gears up to support the Palestinian cause, neighboring Saudi Arabia that waged a US-Backed war against Yemen, causing the world’s largest humanitarian crisis and killing over 377,700 civilians, remains silent and is instead focusing on its Riyadh Season 2023 festival.
