Far-Right Islamophobic Mobs Wreak Havoc Across the UK

Far-right violence engulfed the United Kingdom over the weekend, leading to increased security measures in what many have reported as the worst unrest in the UK in 13 years.

The far-right groups used the recent stabbing attack in Northwestern England that left three young girls dead as a pretext for their anti-Muslim and anti-immigration riots. This came after misinformation was spread that the stabber involved in the incident was a Muslim immigrant, which the far-right groups used to justify their islamophobic violence. However, the stabbing attack was actually staged by a 17 year old non-Muslim.

Video footage has surfaced all over social media of far-right mobs causing chaos in the streets of the UK – vandalizing, looting, and destroying the properties owned by Muslims and Asians.

Police have described a “serious disorder” that took place in Liverpool, which caused the injury of a handful of officers. The Liverpool City region Mayor Steve Rotheram said, “Let’s call this out for what it is — mindless thuggery by people looking for an excuse to spew hatred and carry out acts of violence.”

In the Northeastern city of Hull a similar disruptive incident occurred in which three officers were injured after the violent rioters smashed the windows of a hotel accommodating migrants.

These right-wing protestors also clashed with the police as they vandalized a public property which led to the murder of 3 girls in Southport.

Scuffles were also reported in Belfast, Manchester, Nottingham, the seaside town of Blackpool, and Stoke-on-Trent in central England, where ruffians pelted the police with bricks.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has blamed the violence on “far-right hatred.”

In response to these incidents and the bitter anticipation of further hate crimes, the UK government has decided to deploy thousands of officers on the streets in different cities to maintain law and order.

Furthermore, the government has freed up prison cells and resorted to facial recognition and surveillance to prevent and punish the violent rioters.
